Room was overall great. Comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bathroom and well soundproofed. Only (minor) problems: couldn’t fully close very heavy sliding bathroom door (not properly on runners) and tissue box only had two tissues left (admittedly not a huge concern, just very slightly sloppy). Also the three reception staff on arrival weren’t attentive as should’ve been. We stood there for a while before even being acknowledged. Breakfast was plentiful with many hot and cold options. Food quality, especially sausages and hash browns, also could’ve been of higher quality (and a bit hotter too). Breakfast and dining areas well laid out. Overall a nice hotel, which needed a little more cosmetic care, in a convenient area with trams, trains and buses all close by. Check out was easy, quick and friendly.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, and we rotated through 3 different shift changes and all were equally as friendly. The room didn't have a view but that didn't bother us in the slightest as only sleeping in there but mention it as I know some people care about that kind of thing. The shower had shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available (so many places have multi use now it was good to have separate options especially with needing conditioner). Over the sink had soap and body lotion - again not something you see in many places now. The property was very clean and the breakfast was possibly the best breakfast we've had as part of a buffet in terms of options and quality of ingredients. Unbelievable for the price really. Location was around 20 minutes from the museum at a steady pace. There is a car park on Northgate which is a minute walk away, open so you take your chances but our vehicle was fine. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Birmingham. Also to note the tram is pretty much next door to the hotel if that is of interest to travellers.
