Compared to the brand-name hotels further down the road, this inn is basic and might seem questionable as you turn into the dirt lot and see the trailers. HOWEVER, the lovely couple who runs this place is so friendly and helpful.
Our room was small but fit a queen sized bed, a desk, a wardrobe, refrigerator, microwave, and the sink. And, everything - the room, the bathroom, towels and sheets - was super clean!
Breakfast was in the front trailer, where check-in is. There were two types of cereal, coffee, granola bars, cookies, and fruit. In the fridge were milk, apple juice, cranberry juice and yogurt. The owner boiled hot water and brought the kettle out to us.
This is a great option for more affordable accommodations in Carlsbad where the hotels tend to be pricey.

This was an unexpected, unique property, which is something we love about road-tripping. Although smaller than most hotel rooms, it provided everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. The best part was the owner’s (Bonnie) hospitality. We enjoyed our conversation with her at breakfast, where she blessed us with homemade burritos (as well as other breakfast items/snacks for the road).
