This is a great location if you want to visit Camp Nelson or the Sequoia National Forest. The facilities were very clean and comfortable and the room has a fridge and microwave, heating and portable A/C. It didn't matter to us, but there is not a TV. The host was very responsive and friendly and there is outdoor space in front of the rooms with comfy chairs which is very pleasant and at night it is good for start watching.
Make sure that you have the access code before you start your drive up the mountain. There is no cell service or internet so if you need to contact the host once you are there you need to go to the store or restaurant across the street for connectivity. And this has nothing to do with the property, but a warning to people who might not know, this is in the Sequoia National Forest, the Sequoia National Park is a few hours away. This is a beautiful place with lots of sequoia trees and well worth visiting, but if you are planning on visiting the national park this is not a close location.

NO breakfast provided
better pre-visit communication. When we arrived, we had no idea how to check-in. A local storekeeper gave us the password for Wi-Fi and that is the only way we were able to check in. Cell service in the area i nonexistent. No live person was on site and signage was not good to indicate location. Since this is literally in the middle of nowhere, better communication at least a day in advance would be great. If not for the local storekeeper, I do not know how we would have checked in.

Beautiful location, very private
No staff on the property at all, no reception AND NO WIFI INFO when guests first arrive meaning YOU CANT CONTACT ANYONE and are required to go to a local restaurant just to pull up WiFi to have any contact with the outside world. WiFi info should really be posted inside the room because that’s ridiculous. Staff should be on site in case of any emergencies. My friend and I were LITERALLY the only human beings on the entire property. Good thing we are polite and clean.

Isolated location that provided peace and (mostly) quiet. Appreciated that it was only a short drive to the Stagg Tree, a beautiful sequoia tree.
For the price, mediocre accommodations. Clearly, not the best room with all other rooms empty. Eerily empty. The empty and security-overloaded Lodge itself felt like the hotel in The Shining. The erratic messages were simply bizarre and nonsensical. Only figured out after the fact that "a retreat in nature" was code for no cell service and no wi-fi. Despite the isolation and potential for quiet, there was constant noise from a nearby chainsaw operation.
