About this house rental
Located at 1545 Grimball Rd Ext, James Island, SC. This spacious Home has serenity & unique kind of privacy which places you in the middle of everything and yet above, it all. It's 5 minutes from Folly Beach with Island life and only 15 minutes from downtown Charleston with its deep Southern culture. Even with all there is to do, you will love being here tucked in, surrounded by 60' tree tops, overlooking all. If you have companions, have them look up the adjoining "Lazy Susan" 2 bdrm cottage.
The space
A unique place has style all its own with high ceilings, big windows, room to think open thoughts. Inside it's light, surrounded by tons of 60' trees, & by bird life, (lots of red birds), all their calls and habits, create a world above that you are now in.
There's a second effect, the spiral staircase or the stronger wide staircase get you here. There's the terrace, the deck and the porch connecting you with outside. Inside it's really pleasant. People can feel so comfortable they want to "stay awhile"!

You enter either up the front spiral staircase or take your luggage through a common area entry to the back stairway up to The Tree Top Terrace. It's protected by this huge live Oak between you and the road in front, lined by jungle ditch and overlooks an empty field backed by forest. Pretty private and pleasant!. We are very allergic and cant take pets.we had to give up our own. It has been decontaminated to rid any allergy contamination for health reasons so sorry we cant take pets.

This was a great property to stay at with my husband and 12 year old son. Spacious and comfortable and close enough to stores and restaurants but also to Folly Beach. We easily could go back and forth within the day. The host was so friendly and communicated very well.

The space was nicely updated and decorated. The host was living onsite which was convenient for any questions or issues. The description was a little misleading because it was an upstairs unit and the only stairs visible from the front were very narrow spiral stairs. Once we figured out to go through the front entrance to the back yard, there was a wide, easy to maneuver set of stairs. The house had another apartment which had other renters which was not an issue but it was a surprise. The air unit in the kitchen/ living room was not very efficient and it dripped water and had mold on the airflow flaps. The units in the bedrooms worked very well and made up for the main unit as long as the doors were open. Parking was a bit of an issue as there were trailers parked in front of the spaces we were specified to park in. This caused a slight bump up with our car but luckily no damage was done. The decor was beautiful but not very kid friendly for 2-3 year olds. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and well appropriated. Our host was very sweet and accommodating. Washer and dryer was in the garage which needed a separate code and the sliding door had only a bike lock for securing at night and it was quite difficult to get tight enough and lock. Great for an all adult girls weekend!

This property was in a great location. It was kinda dirty but not disgusting. It was also over-decorated to the point of the decorations getting in the way and being kinda dangerous
