Tekanda Lodge

We had a wonderful stay at Tekanda Lodge. Lodge Manager Upul and the entire staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. They helped us organise local transportation as well as reservations for restaurants and activities, which made everything very easy. The lodge itself is beautifully designed, extremely clean and set in a stunning location. The views are fantastic and our kids absolutely loved the pool. Breakfast was excellent, and there were also very good options for lunch. The owners provide lots of useful information and recommendations about restaurants, beaches and activities in the area. There are also plenty of great beach restaurants nearby.

After travelling through Sri Lanka for almost three weeks, we genuinely believed we had already seen the very best this beautiful country has to offer. Then we arrived at Tekanda Lodge. Our very first thought upon arrival was: "Why on earth did we only book one night?" Our second thought? Checking availability for autumn and winter before we had even unpacked. From the very first moment, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness. The hospitality was incredibly personal without ever feeling intrusive. Throughout our stay, every interaction was prompt, thoughtful, and full of sincere care. It truly felt like a place where every guest matters. Charlie and Richard have created something very special here. Perched on a peaceful hill, Tekanda Lodge is far more than a boutique hotel—it is a hidden sanctuary where privacy, tranquility, elegance, and impeccable taste blend together in perfect harmony. Every detail has clearly been considered. The stunning open architecture, the beautifully designed lounge, the lush tropical gardens, and the spectacular pool area all merge effortlessly with the surrounding Sri Lankan landscape. Wherever you look, everything feels balanced, intentional, and beautifully curated. The gardens deserve special recognition. They are simply breathtaking, allowing nature to take center stage rather than competing with it. Colourful birds and wildlife are frequent visitors, creating unforgettable moments whether you're relaxing by the pool, enjoying breakfast, or simply sitting quietly with a coffee. One of the absolute highlights was sharing dinner on the terrace with Charlie, Richard, and other guests. It felt less like dining in a hotel and more like spending an evening with friends. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and genuinely memorable. Thank you, Charlie and Richard, for creating such an extraordinary retreat. Mega, wir kommen wieder

Good breakfast spread consisting of local Sri Lankan cuisine and other items . Top notch location . Quite away from main city and away from the hustle and bustle. Very good and attentive staff lead well by the lodge manager UPUL. Great owner Richard who was present during our visit

For what we were looking for , nothing in particular. Except maybe more food options to be available . But given the secluded location, we understand the possibility. So not really something we didnt like . The other thing would be to add more sign posts on the way to the lodge to help in arriving at the location without trouble
