My wife and I really enjoyed the rustic atmosphere about the site, the closeness to the water and mountains, and the convenience of the pub nearby.
This was our fifth visit to Egmont and the Backeddy Pub, and we have never been disappointed. The music festival this year was an added bonus.

Room was clean, but it was a lot more rustic than we expected. Basic dish cleaning and scrubbing supplies were not present, and there is no drying rack for dishes.
The hosts/owners are very helpful and friendly. We arrived late, but they contacted us to let us know self-check in procedures and they left the cabin with heat and light on for us. Firewood for the wood-burning stove was delivered daily. Our dogs really enjoyed the dog-friendly atmosphere.

Our cabin had the best view! It was a little pricey for the type of accommodation but the view made it worth it.
