Our three-night stay in Gelen was definitely the highlight of our trip to Uzbekistan! The owner was friendly and helpful and communication with him was smooth both before and during our visit. He kindly took us on a little walk in the area and also helped us get back to Samarkand in the end. The home-cooked meals were delicious and portions generous - you won't go hungry there. If you want to spice up your trip and see Uzbekistan beyond the famous Silk Road cities, it is absolutely worth the effort to visit Gelen and especially this lovely guesthouse!

This is definitely the place to stay in Gelan, a place not to be missed in Uzbekistan. The owner is an English teacher who is very helpful. His family is also very kind and can cook you a nice dinner and breakfast. His dad took me to a beautiful viewpoint in the mountains. Recommended!
The house is a bit difficult to find, but the locals can help you find the right way.

Lieu incroyable au milieu des montagnes dans un superbe village avec des habitants souriants.On a aimé y randonner sous les bons conseils de Shahzod. On voudrait remercier particulièrement son papa qui est venu nous chercher et nous a ramené en voiture à Shakhrisabz avec le sourire malgré les difficultés de la route. Merci à la maman pour les pommes.
Nous avons aimé notre séjour.
Attention, on vit chez eux mais pas avec eux.
L aspect "repas" n'est pas très clair, on nous a fourni une sorte de menu en nous disant que nous avions 3 choix pour le petit déjeuner, il n'était pas très clair si on pouvait choisir plus en payant, pourquoi ne pas indiquer les prix sur ce menu ? car seulement 3 choix c'était peu à manger et nous a surpris par rapport aux autres petits déjeuners offerts en Ouzbékistan.
Le prix du picnic du midi était comparable au prix d'un plat au restaurant Amirbek mais le contenu était lui aussi très léger, Heureusement que nous avions de quoi le compléter. Malgré cela , ce séjour est positif.
