Had to buy our own wood for the fire pit. I don't think it would be too much to have wood available for guests. $12 for a fire? Come on.

This is such a pretty, lovingly decorated and maintained motel and excellent value too. The bed was comfortable and there was tea / coffee in the room. Room was a good size.
A good location for some excellent walks or hikes and the cog railway which is just a few miles away.

Beautiful location, great room, was perfect for going up to Whitefield to attend a musical at the Weathervane Theater! Great owners, very clean.

What motel tells you when you check in that they close at 8 PM? Perhaps you could call the office if there was an emergency, but the person at the front desk made it clear that they were closed. They have a helpful binder in the room with restaurant recommendations, but also with a long list of things that you shouldn’t do, like use the skimpy towels for removing make up, because if you stained it, you’d pay for it. It just was not a very welcoming environment. finally, a room with the skimpy towels has $199 a night, way too much for what you got.
