Ocean House

La localisation est parfaite avec une magnifique vue sur la mer bleue. Un appartement très très bien équipé avec tout. Rien à dire et avec des commerces et restaurants à proximité immédiate

Le bruit. Près de la rue mais les fenêtres attendaient le bruit. La difficulté venait du voisinage ( coup sur les cloisons, déplacement de meubles, musique, enfant qui crie et pleure alors que la résidence est interdite aux enfants dans le descriptif ). Sinon le séjour a été de qualité

You can’t beat Ocean House for the best location in Noumea; opposite a safe swimming beach, ground floor restaurant ( The Beach House, very good) Good supermarket within easy walking distance ( approx 1 km) Babar bar next door. Our apartment was at the back of the building but we still had a great ( partial) view of the sea. Shower very good and kitchen quite well stocked with pots and pans to cook in the new oven.

The only place to sit is on the bed so a few minor changes to the lay out of the room.would enhance comfort. Scrap the mirror and the small white table and put in 2 comfortable chairs . Voila… much more comfortable.

Great apartment, very private, across the road from the beach, restaurant in the front. Friendly people and great vibe.

There are a lot of positives about this place. Opposite the beach. Washing machine and drying rack are handy. Price is good. Supermarket (Casino), patisserie (Sabayon) and lots of restaurants close by. About 30 minutes walk to the morning markets. Clean. Kitchen looks good. Great restaurant downstairs. Nice shower. View of trees from the bed is attractive - but …

(… and it’s a big but) … My heart sank when we walked in. Very little effort has been made to make the space inviting and welcoming. Since the kitchen has been well done, why not make the bed look attractive, have matching crockery, glasses and cutlery, and a couple of attractive things like a plant or a colourful bowl or something to add a bit of charm? And since it’s aimed at travellers, with the restaurant downstairs part of the group, surely some basic supplies like a little oil, salt, pepper, washing powder etc could be provided? Also a way to make coffee would be great! Because we didn’t feel like valued guests, things that might not have mattered felt annoying - none of the windows closed properly, there wasn’t enough toilet paper, the blind cord fell off as soon as we touched it, there was no bath mat or hair dryer… If you’re okay with a place being purely functional you’ll be ok, but if you’re expecting the kind of welcome and charm we experienced elsewhere in Nouméa, look for something else.
