Half Moon Bay Inn

Sharie was such a wonderful person. Really went above and beyond to ensure my things were safe/secure and even put my luggage in my room when I wasn't going to be back in time for check-in (I dropped it off early so I can venture in HMB). Wonderful communication throughout the day. The bed, pillow, and linens are an absolute DREAM. The towels are plush, soft, fresh, and wonderful to the touch.

I wish I didn't have to make this note bc everything else truly was wonderful but there is no AC (common in the bay area) but there was a heat advisory this day so I had to keep the windows open. And while the location is excellent as it's right on Main St. - you get the good w/ the not so good - the street noise. I am a very light sleeper and have trouble staying asleep. This was probably my error - I should have done more research about being right on Main St. I woke up about 12-15 times throughout the night and scored a 0/20 on my Apple Watch for sleep interruptions due to the constant cars being cars on Main St. I even had my sleep tailored airbuds on with ambient sleep sounds to drown out the cars (SoundCore 40 - bc I know I'm a light sleeper). There's also a restaurant right across so it gets really loud up until 10-11pm or so. I don't think this impacts most travelers but it really impacted me bc of my unusually light sleeping issues and bc I was going to work the next day. So if this is you - keep this in mind. Otherwise, everything else was great, especially the people. :)

The HMB Inn was cute, cozy and very clean. Other than ice and a glass of wine, it didn’t have any amenities.

The cleaning staff began their jobs too early with a lot of bumping, banging, and thumping. It did not allow for a peaceful and serene morning. I would suggest they alter the cleaning schedule to not start until after 10 am.

Perfect location in Half Moon Bay in a charming Italian European style hotel. It has stairs no elevator but that wasn't a problem for us. The bed was very high for me so they brought me a stool which was perfect.

The room was clean and well decorated with a beautiful visual appeal. The kitchenette was a plus.

The room was situated above a restaurant, and the kitchen's exhaust fans were on. This made the whole room rattle and hum, and they stayed on until 4am. the next morning the kitchen staff came in and played music so loud it was clearly heard by us in the room at 8am, and the exhaust fan was again turned on causing the room to hum and vibrate. the wifi would not connect, and the front desk is not staffed after 6pm, or before 11 on a Sunday. Making it hard to correct issues. These issues did not warrant the cost of the room in my mind.
