We waren 2 dagen te gast. Vanaf het begin voelden we ons zeer welkom. Op mijn verzoek had de gastheer een prachtig programma gemaakt met een bezoek aan de piramides van Dahshur en Saqqara. We hebben een rit door de countryside gemaakt met paard en wagen. En er zijn speciaal voor ons heerlijke authentieke maaltijden vers gekookt. We kregen vers fruit uit eigen tuin. De kamers zijn zeer sfeervol met mooie kozijnen en glas in lood. Iedereen deed ontzettend zijn best om alles voor ons te regelen en ons te ontzorgen. We zijn op rondreis door Egypte maar het verblijf bij Revesta Dahshur is 1 van de hoogtepunten van ons verblijf. Revesta Dahshur: Dank jullie wel voor de geweldige tijd. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée grâce à l'accueil du personnel. Malgré des difficultés de langue (nous ne parlons pas arabe), nous avons pu discuter et échanger comme des amis.
La maison est située en face des pyramides de Dahshur avec un magnifique jardin fleuri et arboré (palmiers, manguiers,...).
La chambre est assez grande mais il n'y a rien pour ranger les vêtements et vider la valise.
La salle de bains est très grande également mais la douche n'est pas pratique (ancienne petite baignoire).
Nous avons très très bien mangé (prestation en supplément) avec un repas traditionnel égyptien préparé par la femme d'un des employés.
Nous sommes allés nous promener dans la campagne autour de la maison pour voir le travail des champs et le coucher de soleil derrière les pyramides.
Il n'y a aucun bruit pour perturber le sommeil, c'est tellement rare en Égypte.
Il faudrait améliorer la douche dans la salle de bains.

If you are looking for a super authentic stay in Egypt, away from Cairo, in the Nile riverbed countryside, then don't look much further. It's a country house with two rooms connected to the kitchen and living room area. Outside are lovely spots to hang out in, with great views (no staircase balustrades though). There's also a fireplace where we liked to spend our evenings with tea after exploring the area. We liked the location because of its proximity to the Dahshur pyramids, directly bordering the desert, and also Saqqara isn't far. You get breakfast and dinner (which you have to pay for extra), and the food is veery tasty ... fresh produce from the area! The staff was super reliable, responsive and helpful in organizing pickups, tours or just to chat with ... that's a very important aspect of your stay in Egypt!
It's a little outside the "zone", meaning Ubers often don't go (regular taxis do though), there are no known restaurants around, and some people may not be comfortable walking around in the area much. Although the hosts are very careful to make sure that the food is safe for tourist stomachs, you depend on what they offer. So, self-responsibility is always advisable.

We had an absolutely lovely stay and felt like we got a glimpse of Egyptian countryside lifestyle. The host organized reliable drivers for us e.g. to the Saqqara complex and we also did a short horse riding tour through the agricultural fields and desert with a view on the Dahshur pyramids in the distance - amazing! Staff is very friendly, helpful and reliable for which we were super grateful. This is for you if you are a little adventurer more than a simple tourist. Breakfast and lunch/dinner are home made and super tasty. The rooms are quiet and we slept well. Great value!
More towels, especially bathing towels would have been nice. Linen sheets or cases for the blankets would have felt more standard, too. No big deal though if the authentic experience is what you value.
