The house is located in the Folly Field area. The closest beach is Folly Field Beach. There is a dedicated paved path from the house all the way to the beach. Walking to the beach takes about 9-10 min (it can take longer with kids or older family members).
You can drive your car or a golf cart to the beach. There is beach parking with 51 metered parking spaces and 3 ADA-accessible spaces.

We loved our stay here at Sandcastle. It was perfect for our extended family vacation. There is ping pong, board games, an arcade games for the kids, corn hole, beach toys, wagons, chairs, and beach towels.The covered heated pool was a big hit on rainy days and evenings while watching our favorite movie right in the pool. There is also a nice affordable bike rental company that dropped our bikes off at the home and picked them up for us. The beach is only a short 5 minute bike ride or 10-15 minute walk away. The home is in a gated community which is very nice and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with crock pot, toaster oven, newer appliances and we cooked and served easily for our party of 12. The house is large and spacious enough for this party size to have plenty of privacy, but still be together . We only had to reach out to our host once for wifi issue, which was actually due to someone in our party unplugging the router for their phone charger! But the hosts had someone there within the hour to fix. Also, it is a lovely area with plenty of shopping, golf, and fine dining within reasonable driving range. The home was very clean and I loved that I didn't feel the need to scrub down everything on my first day! The only reason I did not leave 5 star review is the paint inside could use a refreshing and the pillows are a little worn, which really is to be expected in a rental this size but that's just me being picky! Overall, we loved it and will stay again!

Would have been nice to be able to stream/mirror from phone to TV in main room. Maybe the option was there but we could not figure it out. Other than that, we had a great stay.

I think the arrangements for WiFi and streaming were not satisfactory. I had to have a tech come and help me get access to set up my YouTubeTV to be able to watch anything. The internet speed is one of the lowest offered on HHI as I used to live there and had Sparklight. I stayed at another VRBO property in HHI and it also had local channels via Spectrum. Finally, many expected amenities were not present like an oven pan to reheat pizza. The one roasting pan was dirty and rusty. There were no wine glasses and basic amenities like sugar, salt and pepper were limited to what was placed in a baggy. Yo rent VRBOs so that you can prepare some meals in the house. This house was not really equipped for doing so. The toilet in the 3rd floor bath was leaking. We left towels around the base to make sure this was known. There could have been more written instructions on how to operate the elevator and how to use the TVs. I was able to get a tech to help with the elevator and TV, but that could have been avoided simply by including more written or on line instructions. I just think the owners cut corners for a relatively expensive place to stay.
