The staff were lovely and the location in the lower part of Malasaña was great. Bed was very comfy. Aircon worked well. Bathroom was very clean. Kitchenette with fridge was useful although coffee pod supply could have been more generous ;-).
One of the reasons I chose this place was because I love having a little balcony to take in the street scenes. Unfortunately, the balcony was practically unusable and very unappealing. It had disused plastic pots for non-existent plants that were filled with cigarette butts. Half of the floor space was taken up by the aircon unit. Overall, the decor could use some attention. We could also hear the neighbour from the next room as if they were in ours.

Hemos estado alojadas mi hija y yo en La Casa de la Escritora y la experiencia ha sido excelente.
La ubicación es inmejorable, a solo unos pasos de Plaza de España y de Gran Vía, lo que permite recorrer el centro de Madrid caminando.
La habitación es muy cómoda, está completamente reformada y el baño es moderno e impecable. Además, cuenta con una pequeña nevera, fregadero, microondas y tostadora, algo que se agradece muchísimo si quieres preparar un desayuno o calentar algo de comida sin tener que salir.
El edificio es precioso, con mucho encanto, ya que se trata de un inmueble histórico muy bien conservado. La única “pega” es que hay que subir dos plantas por las escaleras, aunque nosotros lo vimos como una buena forma de hacer un poco de ejercicio.
La cama y las almohadas son comodísimas, algo que para mí es fundamental cuando viajo. También dispone de aire acondicionado y calefacción, por lo que la estancia resulta muy confortable en cualquier época del año.
Quiero destacar también la amabilidad con la que nos recibieron y el excelente trato durante toda la estancia.
A pesar de estar en una zona muy céntrica, el alojamiento es sorprendentemente tranquilo. No se escucha el ruido de la calle ni el de otras habitaciones, por lo que se descansa de maravilla.
Como ventaja adicional, justo debajo del edificio hay un supermercado y en los alrededores encontrarás varias tiendas donde comprar comida o cualquier cosa que necesites.
Sin duda, volvería a alojarme aquí y lo recomendaría a cualquiera que quiera disfrutar de Madrid con una ubicación privilegiada, comodidad y tranquilidad.

NO TIENE ASCENSOR! Y hay que subir 4 escaleras (2 pisos) con las valijas. El resto excelente, la atención, la ubicación y la limpieza. La anfitriona un amor nos recibió con agua y a la madrugada sin problemas.
