The cottage was in a quiet location within walking distance to the town centre. It was spacious and the beds were comfortable.
It was difficult to heat despite there being a few electric heaters .

Handy to martinborough village, spacious
In the middle of winter the fire lighting supplies were lacking. We stayed 2 nights but kindling was only provided for the first night. The firewood selection was poor

Applecross is a beautiful cottage, just as you’d imagine in the Wairarapa. It has an enclosed garden, which is perfect for children to play in. Having the fireplace is really lovely for winter. The kitchen is well stocked.
We paid approx $80 extra for 3 people to stay but only had 2 towels supplied and one hand towel. When we tried calling and leaving a message during office hours, no one answered. The one bedroom is quite stark for autumn/winter, with no rugs/carpeting, so it gets quite cold. There is a small heater, but no extra blankets apart from the thin throws on the couch.
