Good location . Close to US/Canada border, when entering via Detroit.
I had written on the day I made the booking (5 days before date of my arrival) to host about my arrival time being 1 hour after their 11 pm time limit as I was arriving to Detroit in the evening and it would take me at least an hour to cross the border and get to the property.
I asked them if they could text me keypad codes etc so that my late arrival would not impinge upon them too much.
I heard nothing from them at all.
The day of my arrival I rang and got the vm and again reiterated my request about my arrival that night. I waited 6 to 7 hours and again heard nothing. At this point, their blasé lack of attention to a guest’s request was causing me unnecessary stress and anxiety.
I finally texted the number they listed and they finally responded with all the necessary codes to enter the property.
Upon departure from the property I texted and thanked them and they didn’t even reply. Politeness is not optional in the hospitality service. Even though the property was fairly comfy (but the toilet light never worked - yes showered and did all other things using mobile phone torch), just the fact that they are not attentive comes across as rude and I shall not return to this property. The bathroom was pitch dark at night.
My departure text also advised them of the bathroom light issue; also not acknowledged by them.

Nice place to stay. Very convenient.
Unresponsive host. Could not get inside for 30 minutes. We booked two rooms. Host didn't send any instructions how to get into the house. Didn't answer to text messages, Booking messages or calls. After 30 minutes we met another family who stayed in that house. They gave us another phone number of the other companion of that property, other than one published on Booking. I called him. After that the first host sent me passwords for the rooms, but not how to get in to the house. I called the other guy again and after that I was told how to get in. However, password to one of the rooms didn't work, so I called the other guy third time and he gave me another password that worked. An hour later I met a bunch of girls outside of the house, who didn't know how to get inside, because they didn't receive any instructions either.

It was nice to have coffee and tea available, and a fridge available for us. Nice kitchen and living room.
It would be nice to have a grab bar in the shower and a bath mat in the bathtub/shower, for safety.
Also a railing on the stairway to upstairs would be helpful.
Might be nice to have posted 'quiet hours.'
Would be nice to have the instructions and codes emailed to us a couple days ahead, instead of needing to track down this information on the day of.
