2) In general, the room layout was nice and spacious. There’s a huge walk-thru closet between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bed was very comfy. The balcony would have been much nicer without the BBQ smoke. Lots of space in the kitchen and nice appliances all around. But if you’re not tall, you may have trouble reaching all of the dishes as the shelves are very high. And, the controls for the dryer were barely reachable for me as it was a full-size stacked W/D set (I’m 5’7”). Wifi worked well and the Roku TV’s were easy to use and sign into for my streaming services.
5) The area was OK, not really in the heart of Little Italy and not a lot of very close-by places to walk to in the evenings for dinner and no minimarts nearby for quick supplies. Lots of dog pee all over the streets when walking the dog.
6) The parking garage was not well-marked in terms of the numbering and the way out ( only 1 small yellow not-lighted exit sign vs all the red lit exit signs for elevators or pointing to the elevators)
1) I booked a bayview queen. I got a SE corner 8th floor, directly above the 7th floor BBQ area, queen (IE, no bayview and plenty of BBQ smoke). When I pointed out their error (I was downgraded without notice due to an overbooking issue), I was compensated for the cost difference and aggravation, but I get the feeling that had I not complained, I would not have been refunded anything.
3) The dog walking area is absolutely disgusting. It’s a very small area of turf/fake grass on the 7th floor next to the BBQ area that is clearly past its prime and stinks horribly of dog pee. Regular maintenance with shampooing and enzymatic cleaners to remove the smell are needed. AND, just because the grass is fake, that doesn’t mean it never needs replacing. I’m sure the people in the rooms directly above it don’t appreciate the stench. I just saw a turf service today in PHX that takes care of turf—it cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes it. www.squeakycleanturf.com Perhaps they have locations in the San Diego area.
4) Cleaning.
a. The off-white (now mostly grey) rug under the coffee table needs to be laundered regularly. The area under the coffee table is clearly off-white. The area around the table is clearly grey-tinged.
b. After walking around the apartment with clean bare feet for a couple of hours, my feet were quite dirty.
c. More regular deep cleaning is needed.
