About this cottage rental
Located on one of the prettiest streets in Washington CT and abutting 900+ acre Hidden Valley section of Steep Rock Preserve, this adorable cottage is the perfect getaway. With 2 large bedrooms, wood-burning fireplace, AC, WiFi, and washer/dryer, guests will feel right at home. The cottage is in a private location on the farm, with its own back garden complete with Weber grill, and overlooks classic red New England barns as well as a large pasture for the farm's goats and pigs. 5 minutes from Depot town center, from Lake Waramaug, Frederick Gunn School, Rumsey Hall School, and the Mayflower Inn. Twenty minutes to Litchfield, Kent, Kent School, and Taft School. We hope you'll enjoy your stay at our cottage! (PS there are roosters on the farm and older plumbing so there’s not the most robust water pressure and showers must be taken sequentially)

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage! It is set in a wonderful location, very close to Washington Depot and The Frederick Gunn School. The property is exceptionally clean and charming. If you are considering renting, there are just a few practical things to know. The steps leading into the cottage consist of flat stones, which might pose a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. Additionally, while the kitchen is well-equipped with a modern refrigerator, a small dishwasher, a microwave, a small convection oven, a plug-in cooktop, and plenty of pots, pans, and utensils, it does not have a traditional full-sized oven or built-in range. It might not be ideal if you plan to cook elaborate meals and dine in, but it didn't affect us at all since we ate our meals off-site. Our host made the check-in process extremely easy and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning if there is availability the next time we are in the area!

Perfect place for us to spend a weekend for graduation at Frederick Gunn School! Bedrooms are large, place is clean, we had everything we needed. Loved seeing all the animals. Would highly recommend for a weekend get away.

This cottage was perfect for us. The rooms were comfortable and cozy, location was great for us to get to several towns and parks for hiking, and while we didn’t do much cooking we were well equipped if we had wanted to. Ashleigh was a wonderful host, responding quickly to our questions and making time for us to meet the goats and pigs. You won’t regret your decision to stay here!
