It was just lovely. The room was high spec and very cosy. You can park right outside room, get a drink in the bar and lovely breakfast.

Pros: The location is beautiful, quaint and easy to find. Decoratively the main establishment is pleasant on the eye. Staff are chatty and friendly. Free on site parking was a plus. We liked the freshly baked cookies waiting in the room, that was a nice touch and all other necessities available were also appreciated. The toiletries in the room smelt nice and seemed good quality.

We booked a small double, so I expected a cosy place for the night. What I didn't anticipate was how HOT the room would be. A heatwave has passed, temperatures have dropped significantly, and the maximum temperature of the day we stayed was only 23c/25c. We had 1 window in the room, which we opened immediately upon arrival (the photos were slightly misleading on this to be honest). We went to dinner in hopes that the open window would bring through some fresh air and dissolve some heat in its flow. We both went for the roast dinner I had lamb my husband had mixed. We ordered a large dinner each as we were really hungry and asked for extra potatoes (I have seen Instagram photos and also booking.com images of the food and had high hopes and expectations) unfortunately the food arrived WITHOUT extra potatoes, I asked where they were, the waitress said they were running short and couldn't give extra but forgot to notify us (menu states unlimited gravy, potatoes and yorkshire puddings) so slightly disappointed we didn't receive this, but the biggest disappointment was the meat, it was so incredibly fatty, I spat at least 2/3 of mine into a serviette as I literally couldn't chew it small enough to swallow. My husband's 2 potatoes were hard, my 2 were ok. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt so we had to salvage what we could and leave the rest (£60.75 the 2 dinners came to alone with service charge, it REALLY WASN'T WORTH THIS AT ALL). We were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary so the last thing we wanted to do was moan. Anyway, a couple of hours have now passed since first opening the window, and the air was quite cool outside. Unfortunately, the room was so hot that it induced a migraine and I suffered all night and all day the next day which completely spoilt our stay, as we only booked the one night. We had a fan in the room that we had to stand on a chair so we could feel it at least hit our bottom halves whilst laying in bed.
