Matt was very helpful and responsive. The check-out process was easy. We got Matt back the clicker to the gate. There was no instructions about needing to put away dishes, empty trash, or remove linens, so I inquired about those processes and it was nice that we didn’t have to do any of those extra things but knowing that I’ve had a time would’ve been helpful.
We couldn’t get in contact via phone with the host when we arrived (number was disconnected) and they didn’t respond for over an hour when we confirmed weeks before, night before, and an hour before when we would be arriving. Had to contact the booking.com. Help line to finally get in touch with someone. Only having one clicker to the gate to get in and out took an extra level of coordination but it made us feel safe to have the gated property.
Once we got into the house I had to ask about the dishes left in the sink, the missing hand towels in the bathroom I asked about, and removed some of the blue tape on the ceiling that was around the house. I then had to worry because booking.com said our stay was cancelled because they couldn’t accommodate us/it was overbooked-once we were already getting settled into the house. We booked for the bridal party to stay for a wedding and the bride/groom were staying with us. There were NO other accommodations in the area for the weekend that could fit our multiple couples. We confirmed we were still all set, but our Friday check-in process was unnecessarily stressful.
The WiFi wasn’t obvious but we could take a picture/read high up to get the name and code. Once we had Matt’s number to contact and coordinate the stay felt more smooth. The house has quite a bit of damage I documented before our stay. There were clumps of dog hair around the house and the kitchen surfaces had not been wiped down. There were burn marks on top shelves in the master bedroom and that tv didn’t work. The second bedroom upstairs, the door couldn’t close because the doorframe had warped/become unglued. We got lucky with the cooler weather but there were 3 stand fans to use throughout the house.
