About this cottage rental

RIVERBANK COTTAGE AWAITS YOU.

Riverbank cottage was originally the lean-to off the main homestead. In 2002 we moved it across the garden rebuilt it and lived there happily while the homestead was renovated. The cottage faces northeast overlooking our vineyard towards the Richmond ranges. It is within a stones throw of the Wairau River.

The space
Guests are welcome to a game of tennis on the court right in front of the cottage and to walk over to the river through the property. Guests can also dine both inside or out with an outside table and chairs set up on the veranda.

Other things to note
The toilet is located through the back door to the cottage under the porch. The way you get to it is undercover but does require you to step outside the back porch to get to it.

Should you wish to bring your pets to stay please note they are welcome but are not allowed to sleep inside the cottage at night. This is to keep the cottage in such a condition for future guests.

We also have a cat and a speagle dog called Jack who has free rein of the place. He is great with other dogs but just something to note if your planning on bringing your pet who may not be friendly towards ours.
Thank you.

A fantastic place in an amazing setting - loved our stay!

2 night stay in late April/ Autumn 2026 with my sons aged 12 to 20. We used the place as a base to explore Marlborough sounds. It's only 30min drive to Picton, 20 if you are hopping on airplane tour from Picton airport (in Koromiko). The cottage is great. The host arranged an extra mattress for us in case we opted to use it and that was done without a prior request or arrangement just on the information of my sons' ages. The place carries the design of an old cottage as others note in their comments/ people used separate rooms for shower, loo and laundry but that did not bother us. The kitchen had everything. The living room is full of light. The outlook is amazing. You literally are on a vineyard with rows of vines in front of you. It got noisy in the morning with a pair of wild birds arguing with the farmer's robotic lawn mower. It was so much fun to watch. We did not let any bugs in the house as we kept the windows shut. We aired in the mornings and were carefull when opening the doors throughout the day so zero bug problem. Amazing place!
