What an incredible property. It definitely added to our Okehma adventure.
It has a spooky vibe but there’s nothing really scary about it. Fantastic rooms - big and well equipped with unique decor. And the most comfortable bed ever!
It’s a perfect location for exploring the town. Make sure and visit Mosaics coffee shop and Beaufort Lee’s bar just around the corner.
We got the warmest of welcomes everywhere we went.
Great and quick responses from the host for any questions we had. No issues there at all.
If I had a suggestion for the owners - maybe add a kettle to the kitchen for your European (tea-loving) visitors and a few more cooking utensils.
But these are minor points for a great property. We would love to return some day 💕👌

The hotel is unique and wonderful. It is an unmanned property, so you won’t necessarily see another person while you’re there. You’ll receive a door code when you arrive, and instructions on where to find the key to your room. There is a large common room with kitchen facilities and room to gather and relax. Our room was large, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The ceiling fan helped to keep us comfortable, as did the air conditioning unit with a remote control. Shampoo, conditioner body wash and hand soap were all provided,
If we every happen to pass through Okemah, OK again, we will definitely stay at the Velvet Woody!
