The responsiveness of the staff was great, from the moment we booked. The airline kept changing our flight and they were very patient with the continued changes. They provide airport shuttles, at a cost, and the driver was there to greet us. He also allowed for a stop, at a small fee, to pick up food on route to the accommodation. We were checked in by Calvin who continued to provide great customer service. There was good AC as well as a fan and with few windows the room stayed cool. Cold drinks are available for purchase which is a nice bonus.
I hate to be negative, but the room we had was in disrepair (2 bed room). The bathroom door was broken and would not close. The toilet continually ran and we kept having to lift the tank top off to jiggle the plug. The bathroom curtain was ripped and I had to climb up and untangle the shower curtain hooks to get the curtain to encase the shower. There was one overload outlet in the “kitchen” and the smell of stale cigarette smoke permeated the room. We can’t speak to the pool because the loud construction noise directly across from the residence kept us away (out of control of the owner but also not mentioned when we booked). There was no coffee pot, just a microwave and instant coffee. Beds were okay but only a sheet on it and no blankets anywhere.
Lastly, the driver that picked us up didn’t even offer to help with our luggage. We hauled it all to the parking lot and my husband had to load it in the vehicle. I wish we had used the excellent taxi driver (Dion) we had upon arrival in Belize City. at the same price as we were charged. Cost of stay: BZ$230.20. Overpriced for what we got.
