It was a nicely refurbished room. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and modern with a good shower.
Unfortunately the room has 5 flights of stairs to reach it. We have an old blind dog who had to be carried so this wasn’t a good choice of room for us. The main concern for us was that the bathroom has a velux window but does not have a blind. There is scaffolding up due to ongoing building work which can be seen from the window. On the second day at 9.15 am when entering the bathroom I saw one of the builders working directly outside the window. My husband asked them if they could give us an hour which they very obligingly did, whilst we showered. We feel this problem should be given high priority. We did decide to check out a day early.

Lovely place situated in whitby centre, rooms was lovely and clean, very modern and nice little touches, bed was lovely and cosy with crisp white sheets, would stay again definately,
The only thing i would say is we had an ensuite with a window and it didnt have a blind to pull down was fine on weekend as no workmen, but be best to have one when workmen are there in week.

Blencathra is located in a really good area. The room was very clean and lovely clean bedding and towels

Unfortunately the key for our bathroom didn't work only managed to sort it because we heard someone having trouble with theirs the key they had worked on our bathroom but the key we had didn't fit theirs so don't know how they went on also there wasn't a plug for the sink which was awkward!
