We loved our stay! We are a family of 4 with a 7 and 13yr old. We didn’t come to climb the mountain like most people but for a bit of relax after a while travelling. We spent the mornings relaxing and swimming in the lovely (chilly but refreshing!) pool, then in the afternoons the staff helped with trips. The first afternoon we went on a visit to a village, walked to the two local waterfalls and followed the stunning irrigation channel along the hillside, then walking over the valley through jungle and the river to the rice terraces for sunset. About 5 hours, we were tired but it was honestly one of the best days we’ve spent in Indonesia. Apart from the waterfalls it felt we were a little off the tourist trail. Next day we visited the Indonesian Independence day parade - lots of local primary schools dressed up and marching through crowds. Felt v lucky to experience it!
Lovely in the mountains, great scenery, relaxing, lots of nice simple restaurants in Senaru - and the guesthouse staff were lovely! Thank you!
Just one thing to note - there is a lovely view into the trees and valley from the pool and terrace, but if you look down around the guesthouse below the terrace there is so much litter. Some maybe blown over but lots looks like it’s from building work in the guesthouse itself. I know this is a common problem through out the country but a shame not to escape it here where they talk about respecting the mountain etc. A clean up would be brilliant!

De locatie was prima, dichtbij de watervallen. Het zwembad was ook lekker. Ontbijt kun je bestellen en wordt dan vers klaargemaakt, dat is wel beter dan van hetgeen eten wat er staat. Het personeel bracht flesjes koud water toen we terugkwamen van een wandeling.
Heel veel lawaai van het verkeer en de moskeeën. Het meeste van onze 4 weken vakantie. Het bed lag niet heel lekker en er zaten ook allemaal kleine beestjes in de kamer die bij een houten tafeltje zaten en helaas ook op onze spullen ging zitten. De badkamer vond ik ook niet heel schoon. En het personeel hebben we bijna niet gesproken.
