This was a fabulous hotel. My husband and I were travelling with my parents who had been to Haarlem for a day a few years ago and my mum had spotted the Corrie Ten Boom house and wanted to come back to see it. She has mobility issues and currently has a broken shoulder and the staff were fantastic, very laid back and accommodating.
We all agreed the beds are some of the most comfortable we have slept in. Room was a cosy double but was fine for two nights.
The location is great - right on the edge of town so easy to walk places but away from immediate noise. The main part of the prison next door is now a coworking hub with a cinema and cafe. We enjoyed the little canals and windmill nearby.
The bar and restaurant area is superb and very relaxed and welcoming. We ate very well at the restaurant one night and the staff were professional but relaxed. Food was great and lots of options including for drinks - dessert wine was very nice! Cheese plate was generous. Breakfast was also good, very generous and coffee was great.
Shower and bathroom were very good. We would all really like to stay here again. My husband and I also joined the v laid back but informative and fun walking tour advertised in the hotel which was excellent and we would recommend it - a highlight of the trip.
More storage options in the room would be good, even smaller ones, if a solution could be found - more coathangers and hooks.
Breakfast was excellent but some sort of self service for cereals and pastries etc would be good and perhaps options for smaller portions pointed out on the menu - you could really have anything you wanted but it wasn't immediately clear.

The hotel is in a superb position, very close to all amenities and easy walking distance if you didn't want to hire a bicycle.
Breakfast was very tasty but overpriced.
The reception staff were lovely.
Ambiance of the hotel in the evening was lovely.
Booked as Andy but for Claire who was the one travelling.
Hotel isn't clearly signposted so if your driver doesn't know where it is, might be a bit tricky!
I was allocated a loft room. There were backless stairs to the bed, right at the end of the bed.
Very steep and unpleasant at the best of times, but in the dark...absolutely petrifying.
Bed was too soft.
