Rustic and Basic, but still great

The staff are fantastic and really help you enjoy your stay.. The bungalows are well positioned and comfortable. The pool is fantastic and the meals are HUGE. Drinks are well priced and lovely cocktails. They made a special effort for our anniversary which was greatly appreciated. They even shared one of their delicious recipes.

The shower was freezing, the pool was a much better temperature. It would have been nice to have a water bottle in the bungalow, rather than having to buy one to refill.The ladder to the loft bed is difficult to navigate, especially at night.

Authentic Amazon experience, very cool!

The food was phenomenal and the family who owned it was super sweet. I highly highly recommend booking their Yarapa tour excursion where they take you near Nauta and search for flora and fauna along the Amazon River. We saw by far the most animals on this tour than any other tour close to Iquitos that we also did. There were even wooly monkeys that got on our boat to eat fruit (they were friendly), we saw sloths, toucans, dolphins, monkeys, fished for piranhas, saw so many bird species, etc. that being said, these are wild animals so nothing is guaranteed, however the guides were super great about pointing things out. Whenever they’d spot something they’d circle back around to make sure we could see it. For lunch you stop at a lodge over the water where there is a bathroom. There wasn’t soap though so I recommend getting some soap sheets that dissolve in water online, these were super helpful! (To clarify, at the ecolodge there is soap, but on the Amazon River there is not.) They made us lunch with plenty of food. Since we left so early in the morning they packed us breakfast to eat on the boat when we got there which was nice! Bring soles because they have a small gift shop! ***All photos are from the Yarapa Tour excursion that you have to book separately from your stay.

The water pressure isn’t the greatest and there’s no A/C but that’s to be expected out in the Amazon! It gets a bit colder at night so sleeping wasn’t an issue and they also had a mosquito net which was awesome. The pool didn’t work for the couple days we stayed but a friend had used that pool plenty of times in the winter so I know it usually does work, not their fault, it happens.

Disappointment, not quiet and price quality is over the top!

The place itself is beautiful. A very nice garden and the houses also look nice and well constructed. The shared toilets and showers look clean. Swimming pool (if not occupied by weekend groups) is nice! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Since it’s called a Eco lodge and based on the pictures we expected to be in a quiet and peaceful environment. It’s not!!! The bungalow we stayed in is 100 metres from the main road so very loud traffic (trucks, tuk tuks, motor cycles etc) all the time! It’s situated close to a living area and village. The locals play loud music all day and make parties during the weekend so we could not sleep. No drinking water in the bungalows, so bring a bottle! And also no hot water (or a cooker in the room) to get a tea. The food is very minimal. For this price we expected some nice fresh buffet. But it’s just one plate with the meal of the day. Breakfast was one time really minimal (one slice of bread with some avocado smash) Also for lunch just rice and pasta with very little veggies. The drinks you get with the meal is just a glass of water! No option for something extra. No food in the area so it; is what is. The swimming pool area is beautiful but also for rent for groups in the weekends. So the two times we stayed the swimming area was occupied with a big family with screaming children and one time with a group of 5 friends. They all take the chairs and act if the swimming pool is theirs. Very strange it should be for the people who stay there. So no privacy. The second time we came (we had booked already) we took a room in the back which was much cheaper and better for the noise of the road. But there was a lot of roosters starting at 4:00 in the morning. The wall between the rooms is thin so make no noise! Our neighbour seemed to be very pissed smashing the door and stamping the floor when we talked quietly in our room at 20:30!!

Post diet - friendly!

I chose the PuraChata Ecolodge for my post-diet after my time at Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual and I have to say: This place is perfect!! - Food adaptable and super tasty (the "Causa" was way better than in a well-known restaurant in Iquitos-City) - Super friendly and courteous staff! - The rooms were almost new and constructed super sealed. No way for mosquitos to come in. The extra insect protection above the bed was nice to have, but in my room not even necessary. - Everything was clean and well maintained. - There were so many beautiful plants around, the "garden" was in perfect shape. I loved it! It was my third visit to Iquitos and this place was by far the most beautiful place I've seen. I'll come back.

After four days in the jungle, this is the perfect place to relax, do nothing much but use the pool, linger in the hammock and enjoy a cold drink. The wooden huts are lovely, and we loved the star-gazing platform in the pond.

There is a church or club in the neighbourhood which is playing music 24/7.

食事にはがっかりでした。周りにレストランが１つもない場所なので、食事に期待してこの宿を選んだのに、写真のイメージとは全く違った。３食込みなのはありがたいが、正式なシェフを雇って、食事のクオリティーをあげるべき。そうでなければ、この料金は高すぎる。静かな滞在を求めていたけれど、毎日草刈りをしていたため、静かな時間は少ししかなかった。
