Avoid this host-the apartment is fine, but you risk losing your deposit over unwritten rules.

Kudos to Booking.com: Outstanding customer support from Booking.com, who agreed with our situation and issued a full refund after reviewing the facts. The physical space itself was fine upon arrival and met our basic needs during the stay.

Host Attempted Unjustified Deposit Forfeiture: We rented two apartments and paid a €300 deposit total (€150 each). The host attempted to keep the entire €300, refusing to return even the €150 for the second unit which had zero issues whatsoever. Unclear & Unspoken "Rules": The host claimed we broke rules by leaving a key inside the door lock of one apartment. However, their manual only suggested leaving keys on a table - there was no explicit rule forbidding keys from being left in the lock, nor any warning of financial penalties. Zero Transparency or Receipts: The host failed to provide any written communication on Booking.com, itemized bills, or locksmith receipts proving actual costs incurred. They simply kept the money. Hostile & Hostile Communication: The representative on the phone was extremely stressed, repeatedly shouted that we "broke rules," and flatly refused to provide her name. The entire interaction felt distressingly predatory.

Fine in the day, but a daunting night-time drive and navigation!

The location was fine in the day, but we arrived late at night and it didn't feel safe at all. It's also quite hard to find, and you have to drive down what looks like - but isn't - a pedestrianised street; it would have been helpful to have been warned about this up front. We also had a bit of an issue contacting the hosts to arrange access, and were asked for a deposit which booking.com said we didn't need to pay, but they insisted on.

Dissappointing and poor value for money

Location was good

The new booking check in system needed to be done completely online or we could not access the appartment. I completed it by 9.00am on the day of arrival (15.00 pm) but we were not given access information until 15.30 (after multiple phone calls to reception) Staff at reception said it was because we had not booked in (untrue) they confirmed receiving the information shortly after I sent it. Cleaners coming out of the next flat indicated it was not ready on time. The appartment is not well appointed, no knives in the cutlery, no cutting board, no shelves in the bathroom, rather shabby and grubby. No hot water on the last day (luke warm) Other air bnbs were in the same building noisy and disruptive. This was the most expensive accomodation we booked on our 2 week stay defintiely not worth the money I'm afraid.
