Non-existent scam
Nothing
The fact that the owners took my money and completely failed to provide any access to their property leaving me with nowhere to stay.
They also failed to respond to any calls or messages.
One has to wonder if it was a total scam?

The host needs to improve their cleaning and service, but the flat has potential
A very quiet location close to Waitrose on the edge of Abingdon centre. Plenty of easy parking.
The host should have communicated key instructions upon payment, or responded to my question more quickly before I travelled without an answer. The hot water was off, and it took hours to heat up, so no shower on evening one. There was no wifi code instructions. I asked the host, who answered the next day, but unfortunately gave me the wrong instructions (the code was not on the router, I eventually found it on a card in a drawer). The oven trays had baked on cooking residue and smelled rancid. The oven had some power, but the oven did not heat up on the fan setting (only the grill element was working). Some plates in the cupboard had dried food residue. The very nice TV was unfortunately not connected to an aerial, so no BBC or ITV live tv. The sink in the bathroom is missing the integrated plug, meaning that I could not fill it to shave in the morning. At 11pm on night 2, somebody buzzed on the entryphone waking up my children. They said, "You are not booked for 2 nights. Or are you?" I said that I was not expecting a visitor and hung up. I was worried that someone would come to the door with keys. (I was booked for that night).
