Disappoint with position

Steer clear, pay less and get somewhere far better.

The location is great, just a couple of minutes out of Dartmouth on the edge of town, making it easy for town or going down further into South Devon. Unfortunately the location is the almost the only thing I can say is a positive for this place. Another positive is that it was actually clean, although everything was worn and dated. The final positive was that the owner had thoughtfully put a lovely cake selection in the fridge. That was a very nice gesture and almost makes me feel guilty about giving it the rating I have, but I think without that gesture, I would be giving it one star.

Whilst location was great, the actual setting was very poor, with row upon row of mainly shabby looking terraced cabins. There was a reasonable walk to get to it too, so carting stuff in and out of the car was a pain. The facility is overlooked front and back, so blinds down for any privacy. Worse than that you get folk walking down past your bedroom window (at the back of the property) which is only two feet away from your head when in bed because it's so small, and as it was very hot, I had to have the window open, so woke up with a start several times to shuffling noises or people clearing their throat, right next to me. This is the only place I've ever stayed in where I didn't actually feel safe. The Wi-Fi exists but doesn't work at all, I had to tether my laptop to my phone to get anything and the phone reception was very sketchy so I gave up trying to use the laptop at all. There's no freezer compartment in the fridge, which is the first time I've ever come across this anywhere in life, so freezing the cool packs for my cool bag for the next day was limited to putting them in the fridge and then putting up with a warm drink later in the day. Finally it was very expensive for what it was. Because it wasn't massively cheap I wrongly thought that it would at least be passable...it is not! If it was half the price, it would be too expensive. It's the only place I've stayed in that I would never like to return to.
