Loved the cottage , loved the layout and where it was

We loved the fact that the surroundings are so beautiful. The bush and beach are magnificent and it is so quiet. The only sounds at night were the waves crashing on the beach and bird calls through the day. It was nice to be without TV, wifi, phone reception for a change.
The cottage itself was very simple but had everything you could want. It is very private and had large windows that let the light in. Being July it was cold at night but the heating was great. We could also have a fire in the backyard - lovely to sit beside at night with a glass of wine.
The other thing for me was that I stayed in the cottage as a child between the ages of 7 and 9 in the early 1960s. There was no electricity so we had hurricane lamps and water was heated on the gas stove. The floor plan looks as if it hasn’t changed much in the past 65 years.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

We brought all our own food as we were unsure about what would be provided. The view to the forest was wonderful. The short walk to the beach was a treat, with a family or two of kangaroos on the grass overlooking the beautiful beach. The front deck was a lovely spot to have all our meals, made more pleasant by the overhead fan in the heatwave conditions. The bathroom & large modern shower was good and the bed comfortable.
I had not factored in there not being any mobile coverage, so had to drive back to the highway to make an important call. Was a little surprised there was no freezer, but understood the reasoning, being off-grid. It was possibly the hottest few days of the summer when we arrived, so the cottage was very hot inside. The ceiling fans helped with cooling the place down. Was surprised to see campers all along the cottage fence line, but they were no problem. Had hoped for a view of the beach, but the forest made up for that.

Location was perfect, nestled in the middle of the Murramarang National Park. Cabin is right on the beach with plenty of wildlife around. Well equipped with all the amenities for a weekend away.
