Loved the location, the water views were fantastic from our room. The staff were amazing, very helpful. We enjoyed the restaurants and were very impressed with Astra the rooftop bar, which had great wine and a beautiful menu. We sat at the bar and watched the amazing sunset while having a great time with astras exceptional staff.

If we had to pick anything it would be the toilet light switch was positioned right inside of the bathroom and in the dark we both found it very difficult to find. Also the lack of seating inside. Really only catered for 1. Very small table and only 1 chair for a brekky room service, we couldn't sit together we had to take turns in room 901.Last thing was the deck could do with seating and a table that takes advantage of the views. There was a little outdoor setting but we had to stretch our necks to see the view over the balastrade. We think there should be bar like table and stools pushed up against the balastrade so you can sit there with your choice of bevvy to enjoy the brisbane waters.

The size of the room was very generous and the bathroom was very well appointed. Really great interior design. Loved it.

The carpark could have been signposted better.

This is our 2nd time staying at the Voco and we really like the hotel and its proximity to food and where we needed to be.

We’ve had an excellent experience with your staff before however, upon check out, I had asked about the fire alarm going off at 11:30pm. There was no fire or emergency and from the front desk staff the night before - they said that “this happens all the time” and it was clear that the hotel guests were confused about whether they had to stay in their rooms or walk down to street level. We walked down to be safe and were told to head straight back up. The recorded message during the fire alarm kept staring “wait for evacuation instructions” but none came within 3 mins and that’s when we decided to walk down. I indicated that we had a basketball team staying for games who had interrupted sleep and asked if there would be any compensation for it, The lady at front desk originally said she could take $25 and then $50 off the breakfast tab and I had asked if she could comp us the full breakfast for free and she declined but then comped us for $70. That experience was “ok” and while I wasn’t happy considering we had a team of players tired from lack of sleep, I just wanted to check out. The lady checking out after me was then denied the $70 comp and was given only $35 credit and when the lady asked why I was getting more than her - the front desk person said “because she made a big deal about it”. Not only was she inconsistent but also rude because of my request during my conversation with her. I was calm, didn’t raise my voice and yes - told her I was disappointed but the post experience of being described as “made a big deal about it” led me to the rating I provided.
