Situated just outside Sterling in a beautiful valley with amazing views. We only stayed one night as a stopover on our way further North but very much enjoyed the experience and would happily return for longer next time. The property was warm and comfortable and provided us with everything we needed after a long days drive. Many thanks for your hospitality.

A lovely,cosy little cottage in a beautiful mountains.
The only downside is that you can’t stay longer because you have to go back to everyday life🥹

Location - If the weather allows for a view, it’s spectacular!
Comfy beds, spotlessly clean, lovely towels.
It was cool when we arrived around 7pm and took most of the night to get warm. We were travelling with our parents who are in their 80’s so that was a bad start. As others have said over the past couple of years, a single bread knife isn’t sufficient to prepare even a basic meal from scratch. The kitchen overall needs more utensils and 4 wine glasses (not 2). There is NO microwave which is a missed opportunity. We would also have expected a small welcome pack too, bread, milk, perhaps some local biscuits or something? The shower also needs a mat in it as it VERY slippy. The biggest thing to mention which was maybe an assumption on our part, the fridge did not have a freezer which really caught us out as we were travelling with produce bought in Scotland and there was no way to refreeze our cool blocks. Also, there isn’t a dining table or chairs to sit at and have a meal. Again, this caught us out as we’re not really into eating on our knees. Without the above, we would gladly stay here again for a single night on the way to somewhere, but no longer than that. Such a shame as what we mention above are minor things that are easy to fix and that others have called out too. It would really transform how this lodge can be used by a family of 4. Hopefully the Owners take this feedback in the spirit which it is given.
