We loved the house! The size was perfect for our family of 7 cousins staying over the weekend for a wedding nearby.
The grounds were beautiful and had so much fun watching the sheep in the paddock next door. The common areas were perfect for our large group… we utilised the living space, outdoor deck, and dining table playing card games. The beds were very comfortable, and rooms felt private.
The kitchen had everything we needed if we were there long enough to cook up a family meal - however some communal cooking basics like salt, pepper, and oil would be much appreciated in the pantry to prevent buying these and then throwing away just for a weekend stay.
It’s just bad luck that we happened to be there over quite a hot weekend. There’s no air-con, ceiling fans, or floor fans. We managed to get a lovely breeze through the place by opening the windows… however the windows kept slamming shut with the wind. Once the sun set, soooo many bugs came through as there’s no fly screens.
So the only options are either keep windows open and deal with Christmas beetles flying around your head when sleeping, or shut all the windows and deal with the heat.
We understand that NZ houses are more designed for keeping in warmth through winter - however the stay would have been perfect with a few floor fans for the bedrooms through the summer months.

Ramen waren érg lang niet gewassen 🥴.
Grote weg met auto’s goed te horen.
