It was our second place we stayed in Almaty, and we would definitely come back!

Spacious, clean apartment. We had everything we needed for our stay. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The location is perfect for convenience, with a supermarket, restaurants, a coffee shop, and a huge MEGA mall nearby. Public transportation stops are also within a short walk. Downstairs, there is a small restaurant that offers fresh, delicious food all day. The host made us feel very welcome and safe.

Beware

Host is inexperienced and assumes you have Kazakhstan payment system even if you are from another country. It's confusing and he doesn't explain anything until after he arrives to collect cash only payment.

Not enough toilet paper, towels, etc. Cleaner arrived fifteen minutes early and barged in like she owned the place. She didn't apologize, and stood in the doorway while I continued to pack and get ready to check out. Rude service. Would not stay again.

Do NOT Recommend

I do NOT recommend this property. I would not stay here again. Although there are a few cigarette burns throughout, the home overall is nice. Cheap plastic chairs in the kitchen. One small roll of toilet paper per bathroom was used up before out three day trip was complete.

The owner is not a good host or a well-trained property manager. This therefore causes friction with your travel experience. We arrived to the apartment at about half past eleven at night after a long flight. The door code did not work and left us standing outside the front door for awhile. Then, once inside, I received a message after midnight from the owner saying he wanted to stop by right now. We were dead tired with a three year old, and the man is coming to the apartment after midnight? WTF?? I told him to stop by the next morning if he really needed to. So, the next morning, he knocks at 8:30. I did not know why he was coming. He came to collect payment, so I gave him my Visa credit card, but this man does not accept credit cards that come from outside Kazakhstan. Why wouldn't this have been communicated before the visit? So, instead, he asked for American dollars. American dollars in Kazakhstan? Then, on the day of checkout, the cleaners arrived early and opened the apartment door wide open before we checked out. We were still inside the apartment packing. When I appeared from the bathroom, the front door wide open and the woman was standing in the doorway. She did not apologize and was very rude as if I had done something wrong. Why are cleaners coming early before checkout and opening the door? Avoid this place.
