The friendly hostel manager and the fact I could use a kitchen and make a cup of tea!
The beds were too close and I realise I cant sleep well in a mixed dorm and I dont sleep well in bunk beds. So sadly hostels dont work for me.

I stayed in this hostel 10 years ago while I was on the Camino del Norte. Now, 10 years later, I recognized the outside (with the ship and the view from the entrance) but was not 100% sure it was the same place... because it looked so different inside. They did a great job renovating it, nice vibe, super friendly and helpful staff, kitchen with everything you need and just a 5 minute walk from the ancient church...which was the start of our Camino Lebaniego this August. And there's a great pizza place just a minute away "Ciao Pescao". Defiinitely a nice place to stay as a pilgrim.
For a hostel and a room with 18 people, it's not the cheapest place to stay (as a pilgrim with lots of Albergue experience) but that's because San Vicente is also a major tourist destination... and when you consider that, it was well worth it.
The staff is super... can't say that enough.

"Great views and really nice being by the cathedral. Great place to walk around and although on top of the hill you get away from the noise of the city. Good restaurant nearby if you are not cooking."
