Loved the building and the location! The backyard was amazing.
A little overpriced. Areas of the wraparound deck are in need of repair. Landscaping in front in need of attention.

I stayed in one of the penthouse rooms on the 3rd floor. These are not super fancy (I've stayed in the fancier rooms downstairs previously too), but a great option for a more budget-friendly stay. The 3rd floor rooms have a shared bathroom, plus access to a spacious and cute full kitchen, and a large living room with TV. I apparently was the only one up there, so the shared bathroom was fine, although I can see how it could be tight if there are a lot of guests in the other upper rooms. You also have use of the gorgeous dining room and parlor on the 1st floor. Overall the mansion is lovely and interesting and the host is very friendly and helpful. I received prompt and clear email communication from the host. The location is right near the cathedral, in an attractive neighborhood, and just a couple blocks from lots of great dining options on Selby. Would definitely stay here again, much cozier than a typical hotel!
Checkin was a bit confusing at first with nobody answering the doorbell for quite a while, even though I was checking in during the stated check-in window. Eventually I called the phone number and it turned out the host was right there in the yard the whole time, so quickly resolved. Just a heads up to call the number if there's no response to the doorbell.

Very clean and historic..a flashback to the past! Location was ideal with lots to see. Good for an overnight stay. Hot shower
Curtains in our room were lacking, broken headboard. One bathroom for all the guests. Breakfast was at 9 and an extra charge. Or make it yourself. Just eggs and a muffin.
