Lady Bay Hotel

Large room with great view.

This was a quick one night stop as our ‘plane arrived late from Adelaide and we were on our way to Kangaroo Island. Check-in was swift. We managed a car park close to the hotel room. Attractive view towards the ocean, though immediately over the pool. Great sunset. It was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Plenty of room…. you could have a party in the bathroom. Lots of kangaroos bouncing around and easily seen from the balcony.

Decor was boring and a bit dated. So many colours of beige… Air-conditioner made dripping noises you could hear from the lounge room but luckily, not in the bedroom. You needed to be over 6 feet tall to reach a bathroom towel from the rack or the hand shower from the rail. Children playing outside were noisy, though this didn’t last long. Balcony chairs were mismatched and a little old and uncomfortable. Nothing like having a huge spa bath taking up so much room in the bathroom and it doesn’t work. We did not try the restaurant and bought some food from Foodland in Normanville .

Nice environment next to a golf course.

Room was a bit sterile and lacking in coziness…too much space when it only sleeps two, noisy & ‘tappy’ laminate floors, no USB port so my phone died. Some drink and snack vending machines would be handy in the halls considering there’s no room service.
