This was one of the favourite hotels of my partner and I. The staff was very welcoming and kind, and the room exceeded our expectations. We had a spacious, traditional room with a lovely view of the mountains. The hotel provided free sake tasting for all visitors at certain hours and they also had locally made apple juice and some wines that you could try, accompanied with a variety of snacks. We chose to include breakfast and we were astonished to say the least. It felt like we travelled back in time and were dining like Japanese royals. They also had a lovely private Onsen with a nice view that you could rent for an hour.
We really liked the Japanese food but some tourists might prefer western breakfast or a mix of both cuisines as an option. We would've also liked a reminder of the private Onsen fee because we forgot of its cost.
