Aretousa è una casa deliziosa. Il terrazzo, che affaccia direttamente sulla spiaggia, è un plus non da poco. Noi lo abbiamo sfruttato per fare colazione, per cenare e soprattutto la sera per rilassarci, sorseggiando Raki (gentilmente offerto dai proprietari) e leggendo un libro cullati dal rumore delle onde.
Le camere sono accoglienti e spaziose: la stanza matrimoniale ha un letto talmente grande che le nostre tre bimbe (8, 8 e 4 anni) lo hanno immediatamente requisito per dormirci insieme... mentre io e mia moglie ci siamo accomodati nella stanza con il matrimoniano standard, comunque comodissimo. In più, all'ingresso c'è anche un divano letto.
È stata la quarta volta che abbiamo visitato Creta, quindi non avevamo la frenesia di dover vedere quante più spiagge possibili. Avendo soggiornato per 14 giorni, quando non avevamo voglia di spostarci in auto, avevamo la spiaggia comodissima sotto casa (un consiglio per chi ha bambini: il lato est è più riparato e quando soffia il vento da nord non ci sono onde, o sono comunque molto più basse rispetto al lato ovest).
Infine, una menzione speciale per il proprietario Georgios: una persona davvero accogliente e disponibile per ogni esigenza. Ci ha fornito assistenza e dato ottimi consigli per muoverci al meglio nel piccolo villaggio di Kalyves.

Den leilighet hadde absolutt alt en familie kan trenge. Har aldri opplevd før så fullstendig utstyrt bolig. Det var til og med medisiner til disposisjon. Veldig god beliggenhet, bare gå over veien for å komme til stranden og tavernaer.
Kan ikke komme på noe. Likte alt.

The location is incredible, the house is right by the sea. The view of the sea from the balcony and from the kitchen window was breathtaking. Our mornings and evenings were idyllic and peaceful with the sounds of the waves and looking at the sea. We would walk down to the beach in seconds, which was fantastic.
I’ve traveled quite a bit, and I can honestly say this might be the best beach house I’ve ever stayed in.
The house is fully equipped and prepared thoughtfully, in particular when we arrived we were welcomed with raki, wine, fruit, juice, and breakfast food. Every room was very clean and cosy.
There is free parking right by the house, which is a huge plus since parking in Crete can often be a pain.
The garden just below the house was also really beautiful.
The hosts were super friendly, warm, and responsive. I definitely recommend staying at Aretousa. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
