The guest house is located in a residential area of Miyaji. The room was large and clean, with plenty of futons provided. It is a typical old-style Japanese house, so the room had a tokonoma alcove and a bathroom with a deep Japanese-style bath. The owners are very friendly and speak excellent English. There is a shared kitchen area, but there are restaurants in Miyaji. There are also convenience stores, so you could buy your own food and make it at the guest house.
There seemed to be some confusion over the difference between foreign Japanese residents (who just need to provide their address) and foreign tourists (who need to show their passports).

Everything. We had a lovely stay with our hosts. We are able to use the laundry facilities too which was good. Used the kitchen facilities for breakfast only and ate at the Joyful cafe nearby in the evenings.
