If you're heading to Aso then this is the place to stay. Yoshi, the owner, is the friendliest host in Japan. He welcomed us with tea, a list of tips and recommendations for the area and a fun game during check-in. Every night he has a bonfire going and cooked us Aso sweet potatoes. He makes sure guests are accommodated in any way and we had some very interesting conversations. The area is serene and idyllic and there is a generally nice vibe about the whole place. We'll be back next time we're in Aso.

Yoshi is such a nice man who goes above and beyond for his guests! He provides bikes and gives detailed maps on how to get around in aso + bus timetables and help u plan stuff out. He’s very helpful and the room was nice and clean ☺️ the location is good it’s located near a store and the station. I would reccomend !!!!!

This is a charming guesthouse with a lot of soul. From the welcome tea and snacks, hand-drawn map, morning coffee, and bonfire, Yoshi has clearly put a lot of thought into creating an interesting experience for guests. The neighbourhood is extremely peaceful, and I am happy that I was able to have a good conversation with Yoshi over the bonfire. The room was cosy.
It is the inaka, so a fair bit of walking is required from Aso station.
