This was seriously the nicest property I've ever stayed in on Booking.com! The photos don't do it justice.
The cleanliness was top tier - there was no dust or grime anywhere. The decor was tasteful and in great condition. The panelling throughout and fireplaces in every room made it feel like a destination worth travelling to. Everything worked and felt well taken care of. The kitchen was very well equipped with the things you actually need, rather than just what had been left behind or not taken by other users. The shower was such a treat, spacious, simple and effective. The bathroom fan and shower weren't noisy so you could use them without waking others. The blinds had both a privacy layer and blackout layer for convenience. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable.
The location is excellent- just a few minutes' stroll from the very heart of the city tourist spots and shops, right by a bus stop and alternative parking if needed.
Ben, the host, couldn't have done more to ensure we had a good stay. He communicated proactively which made any queries a positive experience.
None of us wanted to leave and I'm already working out when I can go back to stay again. A real gem of a find - snap it up when you can!
The only thing I think would've improved my experience, would've been to have had a chair in the master bedroom - somewhere to lay items for the next morning or sit to put on socks. The bed had a wooden surround which I find uncomfortable to perch on.
There were various codes to get into the building, which was great security but a tiny hassle to look up each time.
The flat is on the first floor and there isn't a lift, which would be a barrier for those with restrictive mobility issues.

Location, decor.
The beds are awful. Especially the two single beds. As soon as you sat on them you sunk down and we're not big people. The sofa on the other hand is brick hard and very uncomfortable to sit on in the evening. We have returned home with sore backs. Cleaning could be a little better. Thick black dust on shelf above bathroom door, thick dust and cobwebs behind beds. The top landing in the communal stair outside our door was filthy. Looked like someone had emptied a hoover bag on it.
