We had a wonderful stay at the Taggart House - what a memorable place! We are five couples who get together every other year and this was the perfect place for us. There are so many things to mention: the feeling of staying in this gracious and historic home; the care with which it has been restored; the ability to accommodate all five couples in lovely, comfortable rooms (with en suites) that pleased us all; the size and usability of the well-stocked kitchen; the gracious dining room that could seat our entire group; the fun (and oft-used) billiards room; the wonderful sun porch that opened up to the beautiful back yard; and the easy proximity to so many of the historic places that the Berkshires has to offer. Well done Caitlin and George!I speak for our group in saying that we would not hesitate to recommend the Taggart House to others planning to visit the area - and we hope to return for another memorable stay.

Nine of us college classmates (in our 60s) enjoyed a wonderful week at Taggart House. The location cannot be beat! Literally a few minutes walk to a charming downtown with interesting shops and restaurants. And just a few minutes drive to a stunning and important Trustees of Reservation mansion “Naumkeag.” Plus the Norman Rockwell museum—which is a must-do—is a short drive around the corner. We also loved our proximity to Monument Mountain where we enjoyed a legitimate 3-mile-ish hike. Compared to the four other properties in CT, VA, NY, and ME where we have stayed, we agreed that Taggart House offered the best truly-local activities.

We were in Stockbridge for the first time for our annual family Thanksgiving and orienteering event. Most stayed at the inn, but some rented the Taggert House as a place where family could easily be together It was perfect and so conveniently located a short and beautiful walk to town. The house is huge, the kitchen is roomy and well-stocked, the beds were comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom. The pool table was a big hit. Parking was easy. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more responsive. I highly recommend the Taggert House and, if your group is extra large, also rent their River House just behind it. Five stars plus. We will be back!
