About this cottage rental
Take a step back in time and enjoy old Nags Head charm at it's best. The larger cottage on the property, 'Surf Shack', has undergone a complete and total renovation. We just finished the kitchen this winter, brand new! It has all the modern amenities we require, plus the old school charm of 1950s Nags Head.
The Surf Shack Cottages are located on the Beach Road at MP 11, directly across from the Bainbridge Beach Access. We're just a few short steps to the beach and very close to the Nags Head Pier, restaurants, shopping and Jockey's Ridge. The Nags Head Pier has live music several nights a week in the summer. Our favorite activity (other than sunbathing, of course) is to take some cold beverages down to the beach and listen to the tunes from the comfort of our own sandy spot.
Surf Shack has 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Bright airy Living Room with vaulted ceiling, Kitchen and Dining/Sunroom. The largest bedroom has a queen bed and the two smaller bedrooms have full size beds. The cottage is equipped with a new flat screen TV, cable, high speed internet, AC, laundry and a gas grill. Enjoy coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening on one of the two front porches.

We spent six wonderful days at this cottage and loved every minute of our stay. The location was outstanding—everything we wanted to do was either within walking distance or just a short drive away. The beach, restaurants, shopping, and local attractions were all incredibly convenient, yet the cottage itself remained peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to unwind.The cottage was spotless, well cared for, and immediately felt like home. We especially appreciated the thoughtful restoration and preservation of its historic charm. Rather than feeling like a typical vacation rental, it captured the spirit of a classic Outer Banks beach cottage and provided an authentic retro beach vacation experience.We also loved the owner’s notebook filled with personal recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, and activities. We used it throughout our stay and found the suggestions excellent—many of our favorite experiences came directly from those recommendations.This cottage offered the perfect combination of comfort, cleanliness, convenience, character, and relaxation. We left feeling refreshed, with wonderful memories, and were already talking about returning before we got home. We highly recommend it and hope to stay here again in the future.

The surf shack is a quaint cottage with every single thing that you could possibly need for your stay down there. The owner is easily accessible and it’s a great place to go just to relax easy access to get to the beach and close to many restaurants and shops.
