About this cottage rental
Sweet 2 bedroom cottage in Accord NY. Located in a quiet country setting, this home is light and bright with lots of sunny windows. The cottage has a huge deck with charcoal BBQ grill, and a fire pit. Minutes to Stone Ridge or High Falls. Close to Inness, Westwind Orchard, Arrowood Brewery, and Mohonk Mountain House. . Very Special.
The Hickory Cottage is a comfortable space that is well suited for up to 4 guests. The light colored bamboo flooring, vaulted ceiling, many windows, and a 12 foot glass door in the living room contribute to the airy feel of the house, and makes the transition between inside and outdoors almost seamless. The huge deck is another facet adding to the outdoor living space and is perfect for a BBQ, dining, socializing or napping. You'll enjoy sitting around the fire pit and being mesmerized by the flames as you sit beneath the stars. The house has a full kitchen, complete with microwave and dishwasher for your convenience, as well as a separate laundry room with washer and dryer. We also provide a record player with a good selection of LPs, and Bluetooth speakers that will let you play your own favorites.
Guests will have access to entire home. Parking available for 2 cars.
A self check in system allows for arrival anytime after 3:00 PM. Outside lights come on automatically at dusk for those arriving later in the day. Specific check in details provided upon booking. Check out is by 11:00 AM unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
The neighborhood is very much country, deer are in abundance as are many bird species. The land behind the cottage is environmentally protected and remains forever wild. That said, the Stone Ridge Town Centre is just a few minutes away, complete with grocery store, pharmacy, wine shop and more. Hiking and biking enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to the Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. Browse the bountiful local farm stands and farmers markets. Check out the High Falls Flea Market or visit the town of New Paltz, a 20 minute ride, or Woodstock, about 30 minutes away. Spend the afternoon skating at the local roller rink, or watch a few laps of auto racing at the Accord Speedway several miles away. Looking to commune with nature? Wander up to the Ashokan reservoir for abundant beauty and possibly some Bald Eagle sitings. Just looking for peace and quiet? Spend the day on the private deck with book in hand. The many restaurants in the area offer an abundance of meal choices to satisfy everyone taste. The Rosendale Theater is just 15 minutes away.
You will need a car to get to the cottage and around the area as public transportation is very limited.

The house is perfect for two couples/families with slightly older kids than us (we had our toddler and used the second bedroom for her pack and play crib). The host was very communicative and flexible offering early check in and late check out as well as a portable crib. The house is located close to fun local activities. The kitchen has everything you need in terms of pots, pans, knives, basic seasonings, etc. The single portable AC did fine keeping us cool even on a 95F day w the ceiling fans going. There were a couple minor things wrong but did not detract from the stay. One was the fridge that the host let us know was working but leaking some water and was going to be repaired. Another was that I noticed the Weber grill was usable but one of the legs was rusted out. A couple doors were sticky/creaky. Overall though you can tell lots of work has gone into the house including a partially restored deck in the back. The screened patio doors allow you to open up to nature and let the refreshing breeze in.

The house was beautiful, exactly as pictured in the listing. The kitchen was well stocked. The host was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
