Surrounded by mature landscaping and flowering trees, this unique retreat offers privacy, tranquility, and an authentic island experience—all just moments from one of the Big Island’s most beloved beaches.
Inside, the cottage features warm cedar paneling, handcrafted oak floors, and generous windows that welcome in the ocean breeze. The main living space is located upstairs and includes a vaulted ceiling, an open-concept kitchen with ocean views, and a comfortable lounge area that opens to a covered lanai—perfect for sipping coffee or watching the light shift over the bay. Also upstairs is the full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Sleeping accommodations include a private bedroom with a king bed, plus a sofa sleeper in the living area—best suited for children. Please note: Ehu Kai accommodates a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children, making it ideal for a couple or small family seeking an intimate, peaceful escape.

We had a fabulous stay and truly enjoyed our time here. The property was beautiful, with great access to the beach and wonderful surroundings that made for a very relaxing vacation. The management service was excellent-very responsive, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Everything was well maintained and exactly as described. We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great getaway.

Probably our absolute favorite vacation rental. Everything is always perfect. The location and house are perfect for a couple. Mary and her team are always there for you for any questions or needs. The new Roku TV setup is so convenient to login to your streaming services.

2Papayas are wonderful hosts! They have thought of EVERY need one could dream up. And they bend over backwards to offer comfort & assistance. The house is EXTREMELY clean & the walk to the beach is literally 30 seconds.
