The living room, furnished with the comfortable elegance of 1920's period antiques, features a third fireplace and a large flat screen with high definition cable TV and DVD player. There are beautiful antique chandeliers, ceiling fans, and restored heart-of-pine wood floors throughout.

The en-suite bath in Master Bedroom #1 features heated porcelain floor tiles, twin lavatories, a shower and a deep soaking tub in a separate alcove that has an antique stained glass window and candle sconces on the tumbled-travertine walls. Plug cell phones and computers directly into special wall outlets for recharging. En-suite bath in Master Bedroom #2 has a walk-in shower and heated ceramic floor tiles. The third bathroom has an antique claw-foot bathtub with shower.

The house was gorgeous, we loved it! That Georgia, our host, would allow dogs is generous considering how nice the house is inside, so I’m grateful to her for that! The front porch and enclosed yard was a nice place for us to relax after a long day exploring the area. The house was super clean with every amenity you would need for a comfortable stay, and the heated floor in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise after a nice bath. The neighborhood was quiet (the whole city is, really), although the area has an obvious homeless population that, in fairness I had read about in advance, but didn’t affect our stay whatsoever. Dogs were welcome at many of the restaurants, (our last meal was at Vinnie’s allowed them!) and the weather in May was cool enough to keep them in the car if they weren’t (I don’t like keeping them caged if I don’t have to - God forbid they misbehaved home alone in a strange place!) The city and surrounding areas is growing rapidly, so there is a lot of building going on, but traffic was never a problem. We’re from NY so we are used to ridiculous over crowding. The vibrant downtown shopping area is less than 2 minutes away. Biltmore Estate is 5 minutes and well worth it, I recommend making an entire day of it to get your money’s worth, it’s breathtaking! We hit some hiking trails, some with waterfalls - Hooker Falls was a 40 minute drive south and the pups loved it! Thank you, Georgia, for a wonderful stay!

Location was great! House was very clean and well stocked! We go out of our way to pick houses that are to ourselves out of privacy, and we have a dog. We did not find out until check-in that the owner lives upstairs. She apparently sends a text AFTER booking that she lives on the top floor and you can cancel within 24 hours, which she admits she forgot to send. She apologized and stated it was in the agreement (page 6), however after spending several hours of looking for entire property/house to find out it is not all ours is extremely frustrating. With that said, she made homemade cookies that were great, house was very clean and well stocked, location was great, but will now have to not trust what’s written in the descriptions when searching for a place to stay.
