About this house rental
This well appointed Century Home (built in 1824) is just steps from historic Chardon Square, which features many shops and restaurants to enjoy during your visit. You will have the entire first floor of the house (1800 sq. ft.) with complete privacy, including a private entrance. Park your car and walk to the Square, grab a bite to eat, and explore. Back at the house, borrow a book to read, watch a movie or TV, and relax. This spot is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy beautiful Chardon!
The space
Welcome to Canfield House, Chardon's Premier Guest House! This historic living space includes three well appointed bedrooms, an inviting living room, cozy sitting room, a recreation room, a dedicated workspace, and kitchen for your private use. Please feel free to enjoy our large backyard during your stay. Washer and dryer are available during your stay as well. Backyard Gazebo with chairs and tables, and State Park style charcoal grille are available for your use!
Guest access
You will have the whole first floor of the property and washer/dryer located in the basement. There is a locked office on the first floor to which you will not have access.
You should know
You will have 1800 sq ft. of private/secured area, which is the first floor of the property. Your area is totally secured including a private entrance and exit. This includes 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, rec room, work room, sitting room, and laundry room. There is a resident in the second-floor apartment. She is a lovely lady. She is very sweet and very respectful or our guests. She has her own private/secured entrance/exit to the property and has no access to your area, nor do you to hers. In addition, there is a private locked office within the building. The office has a separate, private entrance/exit into the property as well. If you are staying with us between Monday and Friday, you may hear people in the basement office. However, no one in the office has access to your living area and they are very respectful of our guests and their privacy. If you are staying on the weekend, there will be no one in the office.

This is a beautiful property in a fantastic location with caring hosts. The kitchen has anything that you could possibly ask for. The house combines a historic setting with modern conveniences. The location directly adjacent to Chardon Square is ideal. It is the total package. Five stars aren’t enough!

Perfect location right on the city square close to all major attractions. The house is lovely with beautiful decor - almost like a museum that one can touch and experience. Very tasteful and family-friendly ambiance overall. The hosts were very congenial, responsive, and apparently thought through every minute detail to accommodate every possible need and even want. We were in town for a quick visit to attend a family wedding, however, would love to return for a more leisurely stay. Just a perfect place to get snowed in at Christmas

This is a beautiful and well-appointed home. We instantly felt comfortable and relaxed. The extras that were provided indicated the desire of our hosts to make this a welcome visit. Very comfortable furnishings and a great location. We will definitely return when in the area! Thank you Lisa and Michael.
