About this house rental
Totally renovated bungalow style cottage with a sunny open floor plan, brand new appliances and furnishings on quiet street convenient to everything Chatham!! After the beach, rinse off in the private outdoor shower before relaxing on the sunny patio.
Two bedrooms, one king and two twin beds , 1 full bath . Dining area with room for 6 people. Fenced in backyard area with patio. This house is convenient to shops, restaurants, beaches, public bike paths. Golf courses and tennis courts are all easily accessible. Central heating and air conditioning keeps the cottage comfortable regardless of the weather.
The center of Chatham is a quaint village is less than 2 miles east on Rte 28. It’s streets are lined with many shops, eateries & a Movie Theater. Every Friday evening, in town, there is a band concert you do not want to miss.
There are so many activities to do and see in Chatham. Boating, Fishing, Biking on a dedicated bike trail, Seal Cruises visiting the Commercial Fish Pier, the Coast Guard Station to name a few. There are several beaches near by. The closest are Ridgevale & Hardings Beaches a little over a mile. Daily or Weekly beach stickers for Ridgevale, Hardings, Cockle Cove and/or parking along Bridge St for Lighthouse Beach are available at the kiosk in the beach parking lots. Harwichport is a few miles west. Both favorite spots for a day of shopping or a night out
For bikers it is easy to pick up the Old Colony Rail trail to Harwich where it connects to the Cape Cod rail trail that runs 22 miles from Dennis to Wellfleet.

Paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning spray, broom, vacuum, dish soap, dish washing pods are provided. For over 20 years, I have rented homes via online and there are definitely minimum expectations of a vacation rental. Pros - excellent communication with host. She was very nice to accommodate an early arrival which was appreciated. The cute cottage interior is clean and comfortable. Bathroom is tiny but clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice, quiet neighborhood. By car - 8 minutes to center of Chatham, 5 minutes to Ridgevale Beach. Location is excellent!Cons - biggest caution - the backyard - it is very neglected, unlike any other property I’ve rented. When you rent a beach house there are expectations - one being a clean grill with barbecue tools and two, a clean, welcoming outdoor space. You will not get this at the cottage. There is no grill cover and so the grill is filthy - covered with dirt and pollen. The patio is dirty and overgrown with weeds. The wooden furniture is weathered and there are no cushions. There is old trashy fencing thrown in the back of the shed next to a haphazard wooden bench. The furniture wasn’t even set up nicely for our arrival - I don’t think anyone has touched this space in many months. This backyard is not where you want to sit and relax after a nice day. Some simple TLC would easily fix this. We did not use the coffee machine but an old coffee pod was still in the machine. This makes me question - when was the last time it was cleaned?The twin bed comforters and thin bed pillows appear old as do the bathroom mats.

The house was perfect! Very quiet area but very close to everything in town. We were very comfortable every evening and enjoyed breakfasts there each morning. Great location for a Cape getaway!
