As you walk in, you will find yourself surrounded by soothing colors,an abundance of natural light, 2 porches: Including a classic French Quarter Balcony in front, complimented by a cozy Charleston Carriage House deck covered in Confederate Jessamine in back. Host has spared very little expense in completely updating the interior of this guesthouse, while preserving the integrity of the historically significant Victorian style of its exterior. Widescreen high definition television is available in both the great room and the bedroom. You’ll be impressed with a fully-stocked kitchen that will enable you to prepare a gourmet meal inside, while reserving your right to grill out on the deck if you so choose! You will find many opportunities for lodging in Columbia, but you will never find a replication of this turn of the century gem that awaits your visit. If you have more than three people traveling with you, Contact host About booking his Bungalo next door, which happens to be connected by a secret gate in the rear of the property. I loved my time in the treehouse!!I am from Columbia, back to visit family and friends. Location on Blossom St in Shandon was perfect, walking distance to bars, restaurants, and church [St. Joseph's]. Specific things that I enjoyed:Beautiful neighborhood, quiet, beautiful yards, etc. Very Walkable. Safe. Great wildlife [Barred owl with 3 owlets, saw them daily, made my stay even more special]Beautiful garden in backFront porch with rocking chairs. Host- Bubba Cromer was great!Reminded me of the older beach houses on Folly Beach before Hurricane Hugo !Things to be aware of: - be sure you understand where the entrance is [you go through the left side door, that is usually closed, and then up the stairs. - the washing machine/dryer are in the basement /garage below the apartment. They both worked great, but you might have difficulty locating them.- this is not a resort. - the queen bed [not twin beds] was very soft. I slept on the sofa instead, which was great [I slept better than I do at home]. If you are not from South Carolina, there are few things that you need to be aware of:- it is the South, you can expect humidity and it is hot in the summer. - it is the South, we have bugs. The mosquitos : less than expected. All homes have harmless "Palmetto Bugs", some folks call these roaches - dead ones are a good sign. - this is like an older beach house. It is not perfect. Don't expect perfection: this is not a resort property.

Perfect little place to stay - close to campus and also far enough away ;) we really enjoyed our stay here - we will be back for sure!

Great, great location. Neat concept, owner was quick to respond. Linens were very very nice and clean, good threadcount, the mattress may need some reinforcement or time for a new one as it sagged a bit in the middle. Would suggest, a deep clean, wasn't really really dirty, but smelled musty, however, it is a older home and maybe a new rug in the den, seemed to be at the end of it's lifespan.
